Chad Mitchell is a Senior Associate, Health & Life Sciences, at Global Public Affairs, specializing in health and life sciences policy, health technology assessment, implementation and reimbursement, health workforce planning and federal-provincial relations. With over two decades of experience in the health system, he has led major health policy initiatives, workforce planning, and system transformation efforts.

Prior to joining Global, Chad played a pivotal role in national pharmaceutical policy as Vice-Chair of the pan-Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance (pCPA), overseeing its transition to an independent entity. He also served as a board member and Governance Chair at the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH), shaping strategic direction and establishing strategic priorities, ensuring the viability of the organization.

With over 15 years of senior leadership with Federal/Provincial/Territorial Executive Working Groups, Chad has been involved with key national policies including National Pharmacare and the Rare Disease Strategy. His expertise spans public and private sectors, including advisory roles in pharmaceuticals, medical affairs, health technology assessment and procurement, and health workforce planning. He is also an adjunct professor, lecturing on health policy and intergovernmental relations as well as researching the impact on health outcomes of health technologies, health workforce reimbursement and health policies.

Chad holds a BSc in Pharmacy and an MSc in Health Outcomes Research from the University of Alberta.
