Global Public Affairs Welcomes Chad Mitchell
Elevating Global’s National Health & Life Sciences Leadership
OTTAWA – Global Public Affairs (Global) is pleased to announce that Chad Mitchell will be joining the firm on a full-time basis as Senior Associate, Health & Life Sciences, effective February 18th, 2025.

In this national role based from Global’s Edmonton office, Chad brings over two decades of health system leadership in support of client solutions across the full spectrum of the life sciences and healthcare sector.
“Chad’s impressive reputation and track record of policy insights is combined with problem solving and tangible patient-focused solutions to complex policy problems,” said Steve Sampson, SVP and National Health and Life Sciences Practice lead. “His addition deepens our cross-Canada team and will provide more enduring value for our clients in this sector.”
Chad joins Global from a senior executive role at Recovery Alberta (formerly Alberta Health Services). Previously, Chad served as Assistant Deputy Minister in Alberta’s Health Ministry, overseeing pharmaceutical and supplementary health benefits programs, public health insurance, pharmacy funding, and interprovincial health agreements. He also has direct experience with health professional colleges and experience working across community, ambulatory and acute care settings.
A trained pharmacist and health outcomes researcher, Chad has operated at the centre of business-critical Provincial and Pan-Canadian health policies encompassing innovation adoption and market access frameworks. He has recognized expertise in health economics from a public payer lens at both the national and international levels.
As Vice-Chair of the pan-Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance, he helped directly shape national drug pricing and reimbursement strategies, working collaboratively with federal, provincial, and territorial stakeholders. Chad has also served as a board member of the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (now Canada’s Drug Agency).
