Paul Whittaker is Senior Associate at Global Public Affairs, working with clients in the private and not-for-profit sectors, and works closely with clients in the municipal government space in Alberta. Paul is an experienced public and private sector executive with 30 years of experience with the Government of Alberta and an additional six years of experience leading an industry association.
Paul worked at the Government of Alberta and held many public service positions, including Deputy Secretary to Cabinet with the governments of Premiers Klein and Stelmach, Deputy Minister of International and Intergovernmental Relations, and Deputy Minister of Municipal Affairs. After, Paul joined the Alberta Forest Products Association as President and CEO, working closely with leadership in Canada’s forest products companies. He has served on various Boards of Directors, including Edmonton Economic Development Corporation and Civida (formerly Capital Region Housing Corporation). He currently sits on the Board of Governors of the University of Alberta.
Paul has a Master of Public Administration degree from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Arts from Wilfrid Laurier University.
