Michael Mactaggart is a Senior Associate with Global Public Affairs’ Agri-Food, Consumer and International Trade practice groups. He provides sector-specific regulatory, legislative and communications advice. Michael brings first-hand experience leading strategic engagement strategies through the complex political, regulatory and stakeholder environment of public affairs.
Michael’s experience spans various industry sectors, specializing in issues regarding international trade, U.S.-Canada relations, WTO technical barriers to trade, standards, and regulatory compliance for the consumer product industry and the broader supply chain of upstream and downstream users. He has extensive knowledge and experience working with Health Canada, Environment & Climate Change Canada, Global Affairs Canada, and Innovation Science & Economic Development. Before joining Global, Michael was with a multinational law firm where he worked as a political and communications consultant in the firm’s global government relations and regulatory practices in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Michael holds an LLB from the University of Edinburgh and a BA (Hon) in Communications from Queen’s University.
