Kathleen Gnocato is based in Toronto and works with the Global team across offices as a Senior Advisor. She is a public policy leader with over a decade of experience working across industries including energy, climate and health security.

Kathleen is an advisor to Canada’s leading organizations to build partnerships around initiatives that address Canada’s critical policy challenges. Her work centres around topics such as electrification, nuclear, natural gas and clean technologies. She has also catalyzed key public-private policy development efforts in support of Canada’s life sciences sector. Kathleen’s expertise in multi-stakeholder coalition building and engagement brings together leaders from governments, large energy companies, regulators, financial institutions and non-profits to address pressing policy and business challenges in these areas.

Kathleen works independently on a range of initiatives, including as Senior Advisor at the MaRS Discovery District and as a Fellow at the Canadian Global Affairs Institute. Her recent roles include Senior Director of Corporate Innovation at the MaRS Discovery District, North America’s largest urban innovation hub, and Vice-President of Strategic Engagement at the Public Policy Forum, a national think tank. In these roles Kathleen launched multi-sector partnerships around energy transition policy, Canada-U.S. relations, Indigenous economic reconciliation and accelerating the adoption of innovative technologies. These partnerships and initiatives span a range of geographies including across Canada, the U.S., Chile and Japan.

Kathleen holds a Master’s of Global Affairs from the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs and a BAH from Queen’s University.
