Farid is the Associate Vice President and head of Health and Life Sciences for Western Canada at Global Public Affairs and brings over two decades of experience in Canada’s Health and Life Sciences sector. With a background spanning industry, academia, and government, he excels in health technology commercialization, from research to market access. He was involved in health research policy in Alberta’s government.
Farid directed biopharmaceuticals at Alberta’s Ministry of Economic Development, spearheading partnerships between pharma companies, non-profits, and the Alberta government to drive health innovation investments. Earlier, he fostered tech start-ups at the University of Alberta Industry Liaison office and worked in biotech. Farid’s leadership aids clients in government relations, market strategy, and policy in life sciences.
He holds a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Lethbridge and an MSc in Biomedical Technology from the University of Calgary.
