Edward “Eddie” Goldenberg has joined Global Public Affairs as a Senior Advisor in our Ottawa office. Edward brings decades of experience in Canadian politics, law and public policy.
Prior to joining Global, Eddie had built and led the country’s strongest Public Policy Group at Bennett Jones LLP, providing strategic advice, advising on public policy and international trade and government relations to clients for more than 16 years. Eddie is widely recognized for his distinguished career in public service, including his pivotal role as Chief of Staff and Senior Policy Advisor to former Prime Minister, Jean Chrétien. His strategic insights and deep understanding of the Canadian political landscape have earned him a reputation as one of the most influential figures in the country’s policymaking processes.
Throughout his career, Eddie has dedicated significant time to fostering Canada-China business and political relationships, navigating the complexities of international relations to strengthen ties between the two nations. Additionally in West Africa, his expertise led him to achieving successful negotiations in Senegal, where he played a key role in establishing a relationship between a Canadian mining company and the national government.
In 2013 he was appointed to the Order of Canada for his contribution to public policy in Canada. He is the author of the best-selling book “The Way it Works: Inside Ottawa”.
In his new role Eddie will bring his wealth of personal experiences and also be a valuable resource, advisor and mentor to the team members in Global’s offices from coast-to-coast.
