Rachael Wraith brings 18 years of strategic communications, public engagement, and reputation management experience to Global Public Affairs, where she currently serves as Associate Vice President

In her role at Global, Rachael provides senior-level counsel to clients across  sectors, specializing in integrated communications strategies. She leads cross-functional teams to design and execute high-impact public affairs campaigns, helping clients navigate complex policy environments and advance their advocacy objectives. Rachael plays a pivotal role in crisis and issues management, providing timely and effective communication strategies that protect and enhance reputational integrity. Her work supports clients in sectors including health and life sciences, resource development and aviation.

Prior to joining Global, Rachael worked at the Town of Ajax – one of Ontario’s fastest-growing municipalities – as the Manager of Corporate Communications, providing expert leadership in digital strategy, creative services, public relations, media relations, issues management, brand awareness, internal communications, and crisis communication. Trained in municipal emergency management, Rachael acted as the municipality’s Public Information Officer throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, providing strategic counsel to senior leaders while executing effective public communications campaigns.

Rachael has taken a lead role on high-profile intergovernmental projects including the 2018 Great Lakes St. Lawrence Cities Initiative Conference and 2015 Pan Am Games.

Through her expertise, Rachael provides a comprehensive, strategic approach to deliver successful advocacy initiatives that influence public opinion and policy.

Earlier in her career, she worked for an environmental NGO on key files in conservation, sustainability, water quality, and climate change. These efforts earned her recognition as one of Canada’s Top 25 Environmentalists under 25 from 2011 to 2013.

Rachael also served as Chair of the Advisory Board for the Strategic Communications and Public Relations program at Durham College from 2018 to 2021, leading a board of experts from diverse industries to shape curriculum and foster industry alignment.

Rachael holds a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Communications from Royal Roads University and an Advanced Diploma in Strategic Communications and Public Relations from Durham College.
