Michael Paris is a Senior Advisor with the Global Public Affairs Toronto Office.
As a lawyer by training and with more than a decade of experience navigating transactions and critical business decisions for some of Canada’s best-known brands, Michael delivers strategic issues advocacy and government relations advice for clients in a variety of sectors.
Prior to joining Global, Michael was the Vice President, Legal & Chief Privacy Officer at Cineplex Entertainment, steering their government relations function as a leading voice for stakeholders in the Canadian film industry and retail sector. In that capacity, Michael delivered critical advice and support for a host of industry associations and coalitions, advocated before all levels of government across Canada, and delivered successful legislative and regulatory outcomes. An advocate at heart, he takes great pride in supporting Global’s clients and their strategic objectives during periods of transition, disruption, and crisis. He covers all policy areas with a sharp focus on privacy, data protection and competition.
Michael is called to the Bar in Ontario (2009), a graduate of Brock University with a B.A. in Communications and serves on the Board of Directors of Crow’s Theatre in East Toronto.
