Glenn Monteith is a Senior Associate with Global Public Affairs’ Health & Life Sciences practice, providing counsel to leading biopharmaceutical and medical device corporations; health professions regulators and associations; and other health policy stakeholders, with over thirty years of experience working in public and private sectors.
Before joining Global Public Affairs, Glenn was the Vice President of Innovation and Health Sustainability and Executive Advisor to the President at Innovative Medicines Canada (IMC). Before joining IMC, Glenn was the Chief Delivery Officer for Alberta Heath, where he sorted out the Ministry’s service delivery and policy functions, including the program and policy functions that Alberta Health Services and the Department were responsible for providing to reduce redundancy and increase functionality.
Glenn also served as the Assistant Deputy Minister of the Health Workforce Division, where he was responsible for the legislation governing regulated health professions, health workforce planning, contract negotiations (physicians, pharmacies/pharmacists), coordination and alignment of Alberta Health Services collective agreement negotiations to be consistent with government policy, pharmaceutical programs and health support program. Glenn was the Executive Director of Alberta Health’s Pharmaceuticals and Life Sciences Branch, where he played a key role in reforming the province’s drug benefit programs and being a leader at the Federal/Provincial/Territorial National Pharmaceutical Strategy table.
