Global Strategic Communications group advises organizations and builds comprehensive communications plans designed to achieve their goals. We work with clients to effectively communicate and build connections with their audiences such as stakeholders, the media or governments, often under the most demanding and complex circumstances. Nicole Brassard is the Vice President, British Columbia of Global Public Affairs and is responsible for all day-to-day operations and the strategic direction of Global’s Vancouver and Victoria offices. She is also the co-chair of Global’s Technology Practice and assists clients in the sector from conception to commercialization.

Nicole provides government relations, stakeholder engagement, and communications expertise with a focus on the Transportation, Infrastructure and Technology sectors. Since joining Global in 2018, Nicole has successfully delivered complex public affairs solutions in the country’s most challenging policy areas. Coalition building, media relations, and creative advocacy campaigns are her specialty and provide Global’s clients with a fresh approach to traditional government relations. With over 12 years of political involvement, she has extensive experience managing election campaigns and continues to provide strategic counsel at the federal level.

Prior to joining Global, Nicole was the Director of a federal political party managing stakeholder engagement and grass roots policy development in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and the Territories. She also worked in law for more than a decade for several national and international law firms in their corporate and insurance practice groups.

Taylor Jantzi is a senior consultant with Global’s strategic communications practice, providing support to national communications, public relations and digital media campaigns. Taylor is passionate about media relations and thrives on securing top tier media placements for her clients.
She has a post-graduate certificate in Corporate Communications and Public Relations from Centennial College, a certificate in Digital Strategy and Communications Management from the University of Toronto, School of Continuing Studies and a BA Honours in Political Studies, with a minor in History from Queen’s University.

Rick Roth is the Vice President Strategic Communications, Ontario, at Global Public Affairs, helping clients navigate the new Government in Ontario under Premier Doug Ford.  Rick works with clients seeking opportunities to collaborate with the public sector to achieve their business objectives.

Rick has more than a decade of experience in government, crisis communications and public affairs, holding senior positions in Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario.  Most recently he served as the Chief of Staff to the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks helping shape Ontario’s Environment Plan; a detailed vision ranging from the protection of air, land and water, addressing litter and waste as well as Ontario’s new approach to Climate Change and Greenhouse Gas Emissions.

Previously Rick spent more than two years as the Senior Manager for Issues and Reputation Management at Scotiabank, one of Canada’s largest and most international banks.  There he crafted crisis communications plans for the Bank and their senior executives ranging from issues around cyber security, international trade and commerce as well as in retail and digital banking.  Rick also led the Bank’s external communications strategy during their quarterly earnings as well as numerous mergers and acquisitions.

Rick served within the Government of Canada as the Director of Communications to Canada’s Foreign Minister as well as with Canada’s International Trade Minister; leading the communications team in promoting Canada’s foreign policy and trade priorities around the world, responding to the fluid and unpredictable nature of international relations.  Rick’s term with the federal government concluded with the Minister of International Trade during the signing of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership), where Rick led the communications roll-out and stakeholder strategy.

Rick is passionate about international relations, crisis communications and politics, and has built a positive reputation among his colleagues in the media, both in Canada and around the world.

Rick is a graduate of Brock University with a B.A. in Political Science with a Concentration in Public Law.

Rachael Wraith brings 15 years of strategic communications, public engagement and reputation management experience to Global Public Affairs. Prior to joining Global, Rachael worked at the Town of Ajax – one of Ontario’s fastest growing municipalities – as the Manager of Corporate Communications providing expert leadership in digital strategy, creative services, public relations, media relations, issues management, brand awareness, internal communications and crisis communication. Trained in municipal emergency management, Rachael acted as the Town’s Public Information Officer throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, providing strategic counsel to senior leaders while executing effective public communications campaigns. Rachael has taken a lead role on high profile intergovernmental projects including the 2018 Great Lakes St. Lawrence Cities Initiative Conference and 2015 Pan Am Games. Previous to her role at the Town, she worked for an environmental NGO on key files in conservation, sustainability, water quality and climate change. These efforts awarded her recognition as one of Canada’s Top 25 Environmentalist under 25 from 2011 to 2013. Rachael was Chair of the Advisory Board for the Strategic Communications and Public Relations program at Durham College from 2018 to 2021 where she led a board of experts from diverse industries. Rachael holds a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Communications from Royal Roads University and an Advanced Diploma in Strategic Communications and Public Relations from Durham College.

Sophia is a Consultant with the Communications team in the Toronto office, providing strategic communications support. Prior to joining Global, Sophia worked with a communication firm where she supported their consumer and financial teams in media relations and research. She also has previous experience in journalism and book publishing. Sophia currently holds a BA in English and Professional Writing and a post-graduate in Public Relations.

Hershell Ezrin

Hershell Ezrin is Senior Fellow of Advocacy, Public Affairs and Strategic Communications at Global Public Affairs. He is a former senior public servant and political adviser for three levels of government and is a former CEO of two multinational companies. Hershell is also a former corporate director in energy, financial services and service sectors and a leader in health, arts and community affairs. He currently lectures in two post-graduate programs, is a Distinguished Fellow, Strategy at the Ted Rogers School of Management, and is an honorary lifetime governor of the Canadian Journalism Foundation.
