Associate Consultant, Alberta

Calgary - Edmonton, Alberta

Our team is looking for a high energy candidate to skillfully master the basics of government relations consulting and then explore the many avenues for growth within Global Public Affairs.  If you are a self-motivated individual who can balance competing demands, and thrives in a team-setting, this is a great role for you.

Global Public Affairs (Global) is looking for a talented, early career professional to join our Alberta team as an Associate Consultant. This full-time position, based in Edmonton or Calgary, offers a positive work environment and the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across the country.

The Associate Consultant role is an entry-level consulting position for candidates with 0-2 years of experience.

The ideal candidate will be well-organized, proactive, strategic thinker, possess strong verbal and written communication skills and is looking to further develop and expand upon their skill set. Previous experience in the field of government, public policy, or communications is considered an asset but not required.

We are looking for someone who can work independently within a broader team structure. Client servicing makes up the bulk of the daily workload which includes monitoring policy and legislative issues, drafting various documents such as briefing notes and presentations, and ensuring client expectations are understood and met. This requires significant organization skills when dealing with multiple projects, within a fast-paced team atmosphere. And while this role has specific tasks, Global is looking for a team member who is excited to learn from colleagues and clients, proactively contribute, and think outside the box to support advocacy objectives of clients.

Reporting to the Alberta team but working primarily with the Western Canada team as a whole, this position offers a positive work environment, and the opportunity to collaborate with a well-connected network of colleagues across the country.

Global is an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran, or disability status.

Global values inclusion and access for all participants and are pleased to provide reasonable accommodations. If you require accommodations, please contact Stephanie Elyea selyea@globalpublic.com or 613-866-2925 to make a reasonable accommodation request.

Salary will commensurate with experience. The Associate Consultant position range is $60,000-$75,000.

Interested candidates should email their resume and cover letter to cv@globalpublic.com.

Please include reference number INTR-AB-1002 in the subject line of your email and in your cover letter. No phone calls please. Only qualified candidates will receive a call back for interviews.
