Matthew John

Account Coordinator, Corpen Group

Matthew John is an Account Coordinator supporting a variety of corporate communications projects and leads traditional and social media intelligence analysis for clients. He also provides support on issues identification and management projects, crisis communications planning and media training. Matthew is particularly experienced in the implementation of new media and social media strategies as an important function of the communications process. He brings experience from both the technology and education sectors and has developed strategic communications plans for boards of directors and government agencies.

Previously, Matthew worked with the Calgary Board of Education in Communications. In this role he developed and pitched digital media-focused communications strategies to the Board’s leadership while also writing speeches for the executives in Corporate Partnership. He also spent time working in Toronto with PlanetEye Inc., where he specialized in online communications and marketing, content creation, blogger relations and media analysis.

Matthew has a Bachelor of Public Relations degree from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Nova Scotia and diplomas in Public Relations and Broadcast Journalism from Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario.
