Marina Connors
Research Analyst, Transportation, Infrastructure & Communities
Marina Connors is a member of the Transportation, Infrastructure & Communities practice group in Ottawa. Marina supports clients on a range of research and monitoring initiatives across a range of sectors including rail, air, marine, tourism and infrastructure development/financing, among others. She also helps coordinate a range of corporate communications and publications.
Prior to joining Global, Marina worked directly with the Executive Director at the Canadian Foundation for the Americas (FOCAL) in Ottawa where she conducted research, composed policy briefs and liaised with public officials on issues of international trade, social policy and political relations between Canada and Latin America. Marina also worked closely with the Director of Communications on several public engagement initiatives, media relations, and event coordination.
As an active member of the Brazilian diaspora in Canada, Marina volunteers as Vice President, Communications for the Federation of Canadian-Brazilian Businesses, a non-profit organization whose primary objective is to foster stronger bilateral business relations between the two countries. Marina is responsible for the design and implementation of the organization’s comprehensive communications strategy, which includes extensive use of social media, outreach to members and professional contacts, as well as event coordination.
Marina holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Hons.) degree in International Development and Globalization, with a Minor in History, from the University of Ottawa. Marina speaks English, Portuguese, French and conversational Spanish.
