Genevieve Young

Senior Vice President

Genevieve Young manages a range of clients requiring strategic counsel primarily for transactional initiatives such as acquisitions, corporate and project financing, and smoothing regulatory impediments. Genevieve advances issues with a thorough understanding of a client's business objectives and the operational, marketing and financial implications that intersect with the public sector.

She is responsible for Global’s Transportation, Infrastructure and Communities practice group and provides strategic guidance and leadership to this recognized team.  Genevieve's experience crafting highly successful national public affairs strategies and large scale campaigns is extensive. She has developed and executed strategies involving railway policy, port terminal infrastructure, commercialization initiatives, safety and security programs, infrastructure funding, regulatory and permitting approval, and corporate taxation issues for over a decade.  She has represented the full range of Canada’s leading players in this sector including scheduled and charter airlines, couriers and logistics providers, port and airport authorities, small municipalities, not-for-profits, tourism operators, vehicle and boat manufacturers, passenger railways, commodity shippers, terminal developers and operators and security technology providers, among others.

In addition to leading the Transportation, Infrastructure and Communities practice, she works closely with Randy Pettipas, President and CEO,  and is responsible for a range of corporate initiatives including the day-to-day management of the Ottawa office.

Prior to joining Global in 2000, Genevieve served the Secretary of State (Asia-Pacific) and the Senate of Canada, providing legislative and political counsel on diverse public policy issues with an emphasis on Western Canadian policy files and business outreach. Genevieve holds a Bachelor of Arts in Canadian Politics and an MBA from Queen's University, School of Business.
