Dr. Art Olson

Senior Strategic Advisor, Agri-Food & Consumer Goods

Dr. Art Olson brings a broad technical background in science management, regulatory affairs, agriculture, food and environmental matters to Global Public Affairs.

His 31-year career with governments included a range of senior positions with the Alberta provincial government, and federal appointments such as Assistant Deputy Minister, Research and Assistant Deputy Minister for Food Production and Inspection at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. He was subsequently the first President of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

Through his extensive experience in a science-based environment, Dr. Olson has developed particular interests in problem resolution and crisis management.
